a little later… September 16, 2004

I am not liking the color of this poncho. The recipient’s daughter is supposedly dressed "girly girl". This is what my SIL said of her friend. This thing doesn’t look girly. It looks like an acid trip. Also, the second skein is a much more muted acidic nightmare. The labels say they are the same dyelot but the same person who makes up names and pattern numbers at Berroco must also put the labels on the skein. Sigh. I am not frogging it. I think I will finish it and donate it to one of the autism fundraisers.

And don’t think Granny won’t be hearing about this!

before you go donating it, why not show it to the SiL and let her decide?

I agree with ann, and hey, I think it’s cute! 🙂

Which one is it? I just saw it at my local store last night. I don’t want to use the same one. yes, I may jump on that Lullaby poncho bandwagon!

  4. I agree too! It’s so cute. Show it to her first and let her decide!!!

I saw your post about Nathania’s sleeves. I’m knitting Sally’s body hugger raglan in medium, too, and I just added another purl stitch at each end before I started the decreases so that I could maintain the k2, p2 selvedge. I thought they looked so nice in the body decreases that I couldn’t let them go in the sleeves.

I also have a St. Brigid question. Do you know if the pattern was published anywhere other than in Aran Knitting and/or where I could possibly find Aran Knitting at a reasonable price? I’ve been searching for the book for a while, but keep coming up emptyhanded. I’m hoping the pattern might have been published in a magazine if there isn’t a book I can find. My local libraries don’t have the book, either. Thanks!

All it needs to make it girly girl is RUFFLES! Find some yarn that picks up one of the colors and ruffle away. A guaranteed hit with the girly girls!

Hey Kathleen — what happened to your blog button — I have been giving my site an overdue-overhaul and was looking for your button to go along with your link. I had your button saved in my computer, but couldn’t get the file to open this morning, and I came over here to get another one …..whaddya do with it?

Hi Kathleen. Yes I did blog for awhile but quit due to time constraints. STill have no time but love the community. I also like being held accountable of my knitting. Monkey can wear anything from a 4T to a 5/6. If your son would be willing to part with his, I am sure we could come to some great deal. Please let me know if you find that he is willing to part with it.
    Thanks
