I’ll start by saying everything is fine. However, last month my new doctor detected 3 lumps. I didn’t even know they were there. From this experience I have learned a few things. Make sure you are doing your self-checks correctly. (I was not). Know your lumps. They exist. They do. Get to know them and keep on eye on them for changes. Consequently, we should check the same time every month. If you have irregular cylces, check 10 days after–consistently!
My doctor was terrific. As soon as she found them, I knew. But she was so good about showing me what felt normal and what felt different. And she wrote them down, a diagram, for me to bring to the radiologist. Only one cyst was found–as they come and go with the changes in our bodies. We will monitor it but she is just being overly cautious due to my family history.
We all know early detection saves lives. We just have to make certain we are checking properly.
I hadn’t felt much like knitting with all the emotion of last month. I have worked a bit on Kevin’s Dale sweater as it endless miles of blue stockinette. I also started the Fiesta Yarns Gelato shawl thingie. I love the yarns–I just don’t care for garter stitch. But I am plugging along. I have been dreaming of knitting Kersti again. I really want to buy the Alpaca Silk to knit Lara but really should, at the very least, finish Kersti. Oh, the guilt.
You know, those tassels remind me of the things belly dancers wear on their costumes.
