Bug off May 26, 2005

Bugs_eat_flowers_001 Obviously I am no Cara!  I guess ants don’t really eat flowers but they invade my peonies every year.  Speaking of peonies, have you seen Margene’s?  It is absolutely goregous!

That’s an extreme ant closeup!

Knitting…not a lot going on.  I have to pick up for the sleeves on that little Green Mountain Spinnery sweater.  What is it with sleeves?  Granny got her latest shipment of Lantern Moon.  And she showed me another method of casting on.  She hates my most used method.

Kevin and I watched the season finale of Lost.  I was a bit disappointed.  How long can the show really go on for?  It’s not Gilligan’s Island.  I will share one more thing…I was making Cameron breakfast this morning.  Chef Boy R Mom…Toaster Strudels.  Anyway, after I squeezed the frosting on it, I handed him the plate.  It slid right off the plate and got stuck to his pajamas shirt.  I was dying.  It’s the little things that make my day!

You stole my title for today! I’m still laughing over a pizza slice incident and the front of a small one’s shirt. It was classic. Have a great day!

I was very disappointed in Lost and particularly after watching the season finale of Alias after it. I don’t see how they can keep it going without ever giving us any answers at all. The trick with these kind of shows is to have the answers lead to more questions but on Lost they just keep piling on the more questions.

    Not very satisfying.

very cute story…I’m afraid to check in on your blog now…wondering what bug I may encounter — heee hee

How talented you are. Your aim was very good. Hey, I must be a Chef Boy-Are-Mom too! We do the waffles too. Then Mr Pillsbury Dough Boy gets a “sunburn” at my hands and the girls slather butter on him which makes the burn worse. I am so cruel.

  5. Margene Says:

That’s actually very funny;-) At least it made me laugh. You keep your bugs away from my peony, grrl. Now I’ve got to know what cast on you use most frequently. There are many good ones for different things but I usually do the long tail.

I was disappointed in Lost too. How horrifying was it for the little boy to be taken from his dad? How much can that poor kid suffer? You’re right~ it definitely leads to more questions.

Peonies are ant magnets, aren’t they?

Oh, Katy, it is SO the little things (and sometimes the stupidest) that make one day brigher than another!

Did he peel it off and eat it or was that too gross?

  8. Christine Says:

I saw Margene’s peonies and am wild with anticpation of my own peonies that are ready to bloom (if the sun would just come out!!!)

yet another time when the Mother of the Year Award slides through your fingers …. much like a toaster strudel ….

I had a menopausal meltdown the other night and made Daughter #2 feel guilty for asking me to braid her hair!

  10. Nancy J Says:

My mother always told me that those huge ants were absolutely, positively necessary for the peony. My peonies are still in the bud stage in SW PA. You could do the leafy socks in autmn colors….

What a fun moment! In Louisiana my friend had just burned a batch of cookies, and was handing her daughter a glass of milk to cool her burned mouth, when the phone rang. It was the City Council president calling to inform her she had been voted Mother Of The Year!

  12. Siri Says:

Nancy J’s mother is right. Peonies need ants to bloom. Check out this: http://gardenpower.com/projects/bugs/00061.htm
