drive by–flea bombing September 19, 2005

Fleas_and_fun_001 Darn cat has fleas.  Who knew indoor cats could get fleas?  Maddening.  Sure, he looks cute on his back–belly up.  But there are fleas on that belly.  We I am bombing today.  Kevin did most of the clean up–clearing the way so we could bomb.  And Grandpa came through with the bombs.  Fleas_and_fun_004 Two kids out of the house and one to go.  I am setting up for the book fair at Owen’s school this morning.  I have had total locker dreams about setting the flea bombs off and not being able to get out of the room.  And I am wondering how Scooby and the gerbil are going to fair in the garage together.

Knitting…yea.  I am working on a scarf for the shop.  It is the  Misty Garden Scarf by Jo Sharp from Scarf Style.  The yarn is Zitron Prisma.  Although it is a simple feather and fan…I seem to be adding a stitch every once in a while.  Tinking mohair is not fun.  I can’t remember what else I have been working on.  I don’t think I have been knitting much.

We have 3 indoor cats, who also manage to get fleas. I feel your pain. (Unfortunately, the little buggers sometimes jump on me, so I feel the cats’, too.) Good luck with the bombing.

You might want to check for other critters. Like you, I had fleas in my house. the cat we have is strictly an inside cat so I couldn’t figure out how he got fleas. Then my hubby mentioned that he saw the end part of a mouse going under one of the kitchen cabinets. That’s when we put two and two together. I too got bitten and we had to get the flea drops from the vet. Just in time—we were putting the house on the market. Crazy.

Yet another reason I won’t have a pet. Gross. Hope the bombing goes well.

    I hate mohair. 😉

Poor Scooby! Merc, Zeus, and Spike have been plagued by fleas this summer as well–darn pesty fleabers! I hope the bombing is successful!

I’ve been thinking of you all weekend. Let me know how things went when you get a chance. Knit, breathe….XOXO.

He IS a cute cat! Scarf looks pretty — I’m with you on the tinking mohair — what a pain.

Ewwww…fleas! Sorry you have to go through all that. I’m starting to itch just thinking about it (same thing happens to me whenever the word “lice” is mentioned).

I live in Fleahaven… I mean Florida…. and have four cats. Ours are indoor only and we have 1 to 2 outbreaks a year. The fleas get in the house by cat sitting on porch near screened door or flea coming in on one of our shoes (then multiplying like crazy). I put Revolution on the cats during certain seasons of the year. Vet wishes I’d do it all year long but with four cats I’d have to be a millionaire!!!!

He may have some extra baggage but Scooby sure is a cutie.

  10. Hope the bombing goes well! And Scooby is pretty darn cute (spoken from one who can’t see the fles…lol)!

    Your scacrf looks great!

hope your bombing went well and that you didn’t trip or otherwise trap yourself indoors!

    Here’s to a flea-free future!

Yuck fleas. I hope the bombing works. If you can, get your cat onto Advantage or something for flea control. Keep in mind flea collars don’t work … no matter what the package says, they don’t, trust me — I worked in the industry for 5 years, they’re a gimmic plain and simple. Fleas can come in on your pant legs or on anything that was outside if there are fleas outside. This time of year they tend to try to get indoors for the cooler weather. The bombing will get rid of them and will protect your house for awhile, but the best way to keep them away is prevention.

    Sorry to ramble!!

Your scarf looks great! Have fun at the book fair!

After reading the post in full I now understand what is “bombing” =D. I also find that the flea collars are quite good or those drops you put on thier back.
    The scarf is lovely!
