Time_for_st_brigid_003 I have a bit of an obsession–and it’s not knitting related!  Clocks!  I love clocks.  I don’t know what it is about them but I find them to be beautiful.  Admittedly, I am a little cuckoo about knowing what time it is.  Mismatched clocks make me nuts!  My watch battery is dead and I am currently borrowing Cameron’s little digital watch.  I have a Swiss Army watch that I love but the battery goes every 2 years and it must be replaced by a "professional" to keep it’s water Time_for_st_brigid_004_1 resistance.  I never take it off–shower, pool, scuba diving (which I haven’t done in ages–but you never know!).

Our Howard Miller wall clock is currently out of commission due to a similar obsession by Owen!  Luckily, I have found a guy on Long Island who will repair it.  And I dream of a grandfather clock…someday!

The drive to CT took more time than expected.  My car was acting very odd–vibrating–you know like when you are driving faster than your car is capable of.  However, I have a 2002 Sienna Minivan and I was doing about 65mph.  I had the tire pressure checked at a rest stop in Fairfield but pulled off the highway in Greenwich to have it looked at by a service station.  They said my tire was ready to blow and they put on my spare!  Freaking thing was just into Toyota on Tuesday.  Last night I had all 4 tires replaced at Costco.  Ugh!  But we made it home safely.  And Gracie is delighted to be with her friend.

Time_for_st_brigid_001 A little time was spent with St. Brigid this morning.  If you see any miscrossed cables–don’t tell me!  Scooby got cosy with me and the knitting.  I have been having dog dreams again but Cameron had a horrible allergic reaction to my sister’s dog yesterday.  Sigh.  A nice adult retriever though…or rescue poodle.  Just dreaming.  Any other St. Brigid knitters have progress to share?

It is so good that you stopped to check. Smart grrl! The clock is fabulous. I’m a little clock averse.

Love the clocks! I think that’s a super-cool thing to be obsessed with.

St. Brigid is looking wonderful, Katy. The color is just gorgeous.

Glad you stopped to have your vehicle checked. Can’t believe they wouldn’t have checked your tires when you had it in for service…

I am in awe over St. Brigid. I wish I could knit cables like that!

LOL you should come to my house. G is CRAZY about time. He doesn’t really care about what KIND of clocks we have, just that we have a lot of them and that they all say EXACTLY the same time. It’s actually kind of funny in a really sadistic way when the electricity goes out and he has to go from room to room to fix all the clocks. 😉 Don’t tell him I said that though.

St. Brigid looks beautiful! I love the color.

St Brigid looks beautiful. I’ve checked out the Starmore books from my library several times now and am becoming obsessed with the idea of starting St Brigid, Na Craga, St Edna or the St Ciaran or Maidenhair shawls. My 5yo daughter was flipping thru one of the books and pointed to the Galway child’s sweater and cap and asked if “we” could make that for her (obviously cable-love is genetic!). Hopefully I’ll finish my WIP stockpile before I get sucked into the cables! (And I keep checking the Den-m-knit stockpiles on Elann b/c I want to do cables in denim!)

I asked Boar and he said you should have your alignment checked – this is a separate test that they would run when they test tires and is different from having them balanced. this will also tell the technician if your frame is bent in anyway. Also the Toyoto people should have mentioned all of this to you considering how many tires you have been through recently, so you may want to consider going to a different shop to have the tests run.

Love your clocks. I love it when they have Roman numbers.
I used to baby sit in a home that had a Grandfather Clock, when ever it stroke it gave me a mini *heart attack*, I scare easy.
Your St. Brigid is looking FAB…I take my hat off to you as it looks quite complex to knit. We need to change a tire too…went last friday. BTW, are the kids off school? what’s the vacation, or does president day get a whole week off.

Heehee – one of my boys is like that about the clocks in our house. It drives him crazy if the times aren’t the same!
St. Brigid is looking gorgeous! I just love those cables.

what yarn are you using? Beautiful color. Once my well is in and the fence is back up it is time for the DOG! Our dog went to heaven about two years ago and I miss her a great deal. New house, new life, (from city to country) new dog–if you ever come to Maryland come on by for dog love.

You should try for a “hypo-allergenic” dog …like a Bichon,(lovely and caring and social) or perhaps a Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier, also somewhat “hypo-allergenic”.
I do know from personal experience that neither one of those dogs shed which is mighty important particularly when you already have a family to clean up after.
Read your blog all the time, keep your chin up and know that others think of you often.
