More_than_half_way I wish I had been a little more discriminative in my placement of squares.  While I had the best intention…laziness, I guess, got in the way.  I attempted to draw the blanket design but it didn’t work.  I then decided to cut squares individually and color them.  Coloring does not hold the charm it used to!  And I resorted to abbreviations–S for strip, W for white, etc.  I can accept that it is a random design.

A while back Vicki had tagged me for a meme on idiosyncrasies.  Both Kevin and I didn’t think I had any.  Truth be told–there are a few.  I like things to be even.  I fold my towels all the same way and face them the same way in the closet in size order.  The dishwasher–forget about it.  I have to reload it all the time after Kevin and the kids do it.  One of each utensil in the holder allRain_and_other_pics_192  facing opposing ways.  It’s ridiculous.  I was going to make this blanket that way but screwed up on the second strip.  And now it is random.  I can live with that.

The Debbie Bliss Ribbed Jacket was seamed today and needs to be blocked.  All the while waiting for the building inspector to come.  The house hasn’t passed inspection yet.  Sigh.  It will happen.

Odd thing about the even stuff–I don’t like even numbers.  I much prefer odd numbers.  Oh, the duality of life.

Funny. I can’t stand odd numbers. Especially primes!

The randomness of the blanket is very attractive! It would be too ordinary if it all lined up perfectly. Oddness in a person is a very fine quality;-)

Oh, I think that was the meme that got me in deep trouble with Norma! I’ve relaxed a bit with my towels — and the dishwasher (the secret there is not to look!) — but I know EXACTLY what you’re talking about!

I like odd numbers, too. When I buy plants (it’s that time of year, garden-on-the-brain), it’s usually in odd numbers…

I’m with you on the dishwasher. Although my favorite number is “16,” I have a thing for prime numbers — strange, huh!

I think your blanket is perfect!

Odd numbers have their own symmetry and balance. Interior designers recommend that you group accessories in threes (or fives, etc) for this reason. So, when you say evenness, maybe you really mean that you like symmetry and balance… 🙂 Either way, I can understand what you mean. I go NUTS when my husband puts the tall and short glasses away all intermingled, yet I could care less that there are 13 errant skeins of yarn running around my living room. It’s all what “order” is to the individual, I guess.

We’re on opposing ends than…I like even numbers because of an a nurosys from my school days. I don’t want anyone left out. or odd one out…so…even for me.

As for the blanket it’s gorgeous…it makes sense also, note the white squares give in a re-ocouring theme.

    I can’t spell today…sorry.

As for idiosyncrasies…did I ever tell you about my think with hanging out the laundrey? Cloth pegs need to match. all shirts from hang from bottom…if Ed helps me and does not do it like I like it, I ammend it…but that annoys him…he threatens not to help me, he also likes to tease me and use 2 different pegs.

Oh, how I wish I had thought to pick up and knit those afghan squares to join them instead of knitting each individual square! I am about half done with the squares, and I just got the news that the couple who will receive this blanket is going to the hospital tonight to deliver! I’ve got to get my sorry butt moving on this thing! I have loved working on it, however…both the Debbie Abrams books are spectacular.
