Cable goes over the cross.  As is is supposed to.  On the far left cross.

Cable goes under the cross…wrong!  That is nearly 75 rows ago.  I may have to use the cutting cable method I saw on Cara’s blog.

I am sorry for the huge picture.  The Dell had it’s final demise and I am using the Mac.  It is hard to believe I learned computing on an Apple.  Heck, I brought a Mac to college but I have been dumbed down by PC’s.  On the Dell, I could edit to my hearts delight and draw on my pictures.  This Mac has me clueless.

You can SO do a Cara on that!

  2. Cara Says:

Katy – it’s TOTALLY DOABLE! The best advice I can give you is to make a swatch and twist the cables as many times as you think you’lll need to feel comfortable.

And REMEMBER! What’s the worst thing that can happen? You fuck it up and have to rip and reknit? YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!

The one thing I prefer about the PC, Paint. I have searched endlessly for something to do the same on the Mac, something that is a free download that is. After spending over $300.00 on knitwear programs, I can’t see me shelling out for a Paint like program. So, no writing. But you can export them and reduce the size on your Mac.

    Poor you:(

I think you can totally do the cutting cable thing. I have the utmost faith in you.

    What does mom say?

  5. Bonnie Says:

Cut that cable and show it who is boss!!!

crap. what a pain. i keep checking mine to make sure i haven’t mis-crossed one. it’s so easy to do when you’re in the zone.

but everyone here is right — you CAN do it.

  7. Welcome to the Mac world–or welcome back. I’ve got a few links on my blog of helpful sites for Mac users, but Chris is right–there’s no good substitute for Paint. It’s the only thing I miss from a PC.

You’re gonna fix that? I’d totally ignore it. But that’s me.

me thinks it’s hardly noticible…don’t know if it’s wroth frogging for.

  9. Lynne Says:

You can do it! It’s kind of fun to fix a cable that way! GO for it!
